Amanda Summerlin

Amanda Summerlin has been making the finest homes in the Southeast more beautiful since 1996. She graduated from the Savannah College of Art and Design with a Bachelors of Fine Art in Painting in 1993. It was at SCAD she first became exposed to decorative painting techniques, in classes such as set design and furniture painting. Intrigued by the magic and potential of paint, she continued her explorations after college by volunteering with an Atlanta based theater company, and assisted in the design, construction, and painting of their sets. It wasn't long before a member of the audience who was in the interior design trade, noticed Amanda's work and suggested that decorative painting was a marketable skill. In the summer of 1996, Amanda left her full time job and began pursuing a decorative painting career.

Amanda was quickly successful in the field, building her business by having an unsurpassed attention to detail and design. Her work has been featured in local and national publications, including the cover of European Homes and Gardens. In 2005, Amanda accepted the position of Director of Contracting Operations with The Finishing Source, Inc., the premier decorative finishing studio in the southeast. Since becoming a member of this creative team, Amanda has contributed to the curriculum by assisting in the development of the Tiles and Stones and Hand Crafted Wall Covering classes.

In addition, Amanda is also an accomplished landscape and portrait painter and photographer and has exhibited her work in galleries in the Atlanta area.
